Hello Susan Rose, Thank you for your message. Actually we are even not sure when we can dine in restaurant since our restaurant is very tiny has only 9 counter bar seats, no tables at all. We have to figure out how to measure to have 6 feet social distance since nobody, even CDC doesn’t know what to with this kind of restaurants. And also we are not sure if we need to have plastic guard between Chef and customers and we are not sure about what to do with bathroom either. We are not sure so many things at this moment. Actually nobody know exactly what to do with this kind of restaurant. So we have to ask around other similar restaurants and have meeting with them. We are very sorry that we only can say these tings to you now. But once everything is clear and know what to do and ready to dine in, we will let everyone knows on our website and any other sources. So now we still continue to do take out through June. We are very sorry for the inconvenience for you.
Hello Andrea Ryner, Thank you very much for contacting Sushi Yoshizumi sushiya. We are sorry but we don’t have vegan menu. And our reservations are fully booked for next 30 days at this moment. We are very sorry for the inconvenience for you. Best Regards, sushi yoshizumi
Yoshizumi is different, there is no menu here, only two omakase options. Quality is amazing, since he only serves what is in season at the time.

Nice place, great food and lovely service. Mostly recommended
From the lunch menu, the saba shioyaki was delicious. Small portion, but juicy and fresh. It seems like this restaurant wasn't as popular for lunch as some of the other Japanese spots in San Mateo, but I still very much enjoyed their lunch offerings, which is cheaper than their regular dinner menu, albeit still around $2 more than the lunch menus at the other authentic Japanese joints like Hotaru.
Wonderful beef udon
Ordered Bento box meal with my girlfriend. The food was great. The salmon and saba fish was fresh and delicious. Good job!
Country style dishes that are very authentic. Sushi quality is very good. Has very good noodles and service is very good. If you appreciate good Japanese you must go.
Good food. Good service, somehow over 2 items bill jumps up to 80 for 2 people light dinner, no too bad... . Just ask about market price items before you order.
I've been coming here since I was pregnant with my daughter.. That was 15 years ago!! Love them... Love the food!!!
good food
Good Japanese standards. Atmosphere is kinda sterile.
I've been coming to this restaurant for decades. It originally started as a hole in the wall on B Street, then eventually moved to its current location on 4th Avenue. Through it all I've enjoyed many, many delicious and memorable meals at this fine restaurant. Amazingly the quality has remained consistent throughout the years. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Not the best option for Japanese food in San Mateo
Little about this place sticks out from the dozens of sushi places in the bay area. They have exactly what you would expect on the menu, with the exception of an underwhelming choice of rolls. They do have tuna belly, but it's at market price, which for us was $19. Although it was good, frankly, I don't think it's worth the price. A much better value is the tuna sashimi, which is delicious and also $19. If you do go, I would recommend getting the mango hi (it's a sweet mixed drink).
The best sushi I've had in the bay area. Very unassuming from the outside but never disappoints. Friendly service, simple/relaxed decor, and amazing chirashi.
Got there at 9:15 pm on the way back from SFO. It was almost closing time. I asked if the kitchen is still open. The waiter said "Of course" Sushi bar has just been cleaned but the chef made rolls for us. My mom order a seafood ramen - $18. It came in a standard size bowls with plenty of seafood - scallops, salmon, etc.. The soup was delicious not salty at all which is perfect for me. Great services especially at almost closing hour. Will definitely be back.
Authentic quality and rare menu items. Service was top notch. Excited to return and try something new.
